Sydney’s YEN STRANGE Praises the Softer Side of BANKS ARCADE
Sydney music maverick YEN STRANGE recently sang the praises of BANKS ARCADE, who in addition to being stellar musicians, apparently aren’t afraid to show their soft side to their touring partners.
“They’re all very girly on tour. They were very, like, easy to talk to, and they didn’t have that masculinity that a lot of groups of men have. It was nice. I was intimidated by the fact that, in all their videos and stuff, they were all very serious, and then I met them all, and they were just like, “Oh hi!” And just really cute.”
Yen has just released her new single If Snakes Can Afford Fast Cars I Wanna Be a Snake Too, a beautifully gloomy slice of bedroom pop. In the full interview below, she spoke about travelling in the States, songwriting inspirations, and what she’s going to put on the rider when she becomes a megastar. Plus she passes the test by complimenting me on my DEFTONES shirt. Ace.
